People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet, Part 1

Welcome to the 2012 People’s Choice Awards red carpet, dear readers!

EMMA STONE // tuxedo by Gucci

Head-to-toe perfection. This is the way to rock the red carpet in pants – never change a thing, Emma!

GINNIFER GOODWIN // dress by Roksanda Ilincic, purse by Kzeniya, shoes by Jimmy Choo

You know, if she didn’t try so fucking hard, this could be fantastic. The color is awesome, the sleeves walk that fine line between stupid and fabulous, and I like the hair. But with the purse (fierce in its own right, but too much with the sleeves), the shoes (Kim Kardashian would love them, which is as bad an insult as I can think of), the LOOK AT ME DRAMA! of it all is a little much for the fucking People’s Choice Awards, which is not exactly high on the hierarchy of red carpet events.

ALYSON HANNIGAN // dress by Alice + Olivia

Alyson just solidified herself as a woman to watch when it comes to dressing your fabulous pregnant self on the red carpet. The color is fantastic, the shape and silhouette are perfect – she looks tiny everywhere except the baby belly and boobs, which is really the goal of red carpet maternity wear, isn’t it? Love the hair, makeup, and jewelry, but I’d probably have gone with a darker shoe for a little more contrast.

COBIE SMULDERS // dress by Reem Acra, necklace by Etro, purse by Jimmy Choo, shoes by Rebecca Minkoff

Alyson’s How I Met Your Mother co-star rocked an equally bright and fabulous color, but this one needs a few alterations. The bust needs to be let out and yanked up just a tiny bit, and the shoes were the wrong choice. But I like the hair and makeup, and I think her necklace is fabulous.

ELISHA CUTHBERT // gown by Vawk

Pretty, but almost unbearably bland. Did she get some work done, or did she always look like a wax figurine of herself?

FAITH HILL // dress by Bill Blass

Photo: Steve Granitz/WireImage

We just saw Jennifer Morrison in a high-slitted, belted version of this dress – I didn’t like it on her, and it’s not much better on Faith. The draped top and pussy bow don’t work on anyone, and her boring shoes and hair just make it worse.

DEMI LOVATO // gown and purse by Marchesa, shoes by Christian Louboutin

The purse is fabulous, but the dress is kind of a nightmare. It makes her look shorter and wider than she really is, and the cleavage is way too much. A design that emphasizes her hips a little less would really show off her kickin’ bod. The color washes her out, and that train is a hot disaster.

Ohhh, darling. PLEASE don’t take your hair cues from Rihanna. That’s just the worst idea imaginable. Also, consider NOT matching your hair to your lipstick to your dress to your shoes. Also, the mullet hem? It needs to die.

KALEY CUOCO // gown by Badgley Mischka

I didn’t know who Kaley Cuoco was, but apparently she’s on The Big Bang Theory and she hosted the People’s Choice Awards, so I’m obligated to discuss her. What I don’t understand is why she picked a gown from a bridal collection for the People’s Choice Awards. The hair is sloppy, the makeup is too heavy, the purse is forgettable, and the color of the gown isn’t great on her.

Honey, you are not a wedding cake. There really is no reason to dress like one.

BUSY PHILLIPPS // dress by Carven, shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti

You do a disservice to those marvelous shoes by wearing them with a dress that’s two sizes too small and looks like it can be bought at any mall in America.

If you’re going to be obnoxiously untalented, at least dress well. Otherwise, what the hell are you doing here?

KELLY OSBOURNE // dress by Honor, shoes by Casadei

To the world’s most evil stylist, who convinced Kelly Osbourne to dye her hair gray – I commend you. Seriously, I make fun of needlessly famous celebrities all the time, but to actually take action and get them to make themselves look as hideous as possible – that’s an achievement.

I adore Emma Stones outfit. In some pictures the jacket didnt really look like it fit all that well, but here it looks good. I totally agree with eveything you said here-especially about Kelly Osbourne.

  2. What the holy hell is going on down the front of Kelly Osbourne’s dress? Did this brilliantly evil stylist also convince her to wear the dress backwards and inside out? That looks like a full-length zipper there.

I want Emma Stone’s jacket. It’s freaking awesome!
