Since Sarah Jessica Parker has been whoring out her new film all over the globe, let’s take an opportunity to… … judge her mercilessly!
SARAH JESSICA PARKER // dress by Giambattista Valli
Oof. Whatever dramatic effect she was going for, it comes off more “desperate aging superhero” than anything else. A giant cape is an accessory best left on the runway, as you’ll see.

I mean, the runway version looks so much more appealing. But it’s not a dress a real woman can wear.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER // dress by Chanel, shoes by Manolo Blahnik
I’m never a fan of the double skirt, but this dress is cute enough and relatively inoffensive. It comes off less edgy and more preppy on SJP than it did on the runway.

But at least she skipped the knee-high legwarmer/flip-flops.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER // dress by Prabal Gurung, shoes by Charlotte Olympia
This is adorable. No complaints.
SJP’s dress, runway version: Prabal Gurung Resort 2012, modeled by Emily Sanko
For once, SJP kicked the model’s ass, rocking this sweet little floral dress in a much sweeter and less severe way. And while those Prabal Gurung shoes are crazy-cool, SJP’s studded platforms were a way better styling choice.

Gorgeous dress – cut, fit, length, sleeves, print, colors, YUM.

Throw on elbow-length level gloves and some textured black stockings, and this dress transforms from Bradshaw to Badass.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER // dress and jacket by Antonio Berardi, shoes by Charlotte Olympia
It’s excessively matchy-matchy, especially in a metallic. She looks like what flight attendants on space shuttles will look like in the future, when there are commercial flights to the moon.
Runway version, SJP’s jacket: Antonio Berardi Fall 2011, modeled by Sabrina Ioffreda
Is it the lighting? This color is so much grayer on the runway than the blue it seems to be on SJP. And I like the gray much better.

I don’t know. If you had as many fashion options as SJP, why would you pick this dress?

These are phenomenal, but not with that dress and jacket.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER // jacket by Chanel, tote by Louis Vuitton, shoes by Brian Atwood
Love the pastels; love the structured jacket with the loose, silky skirt; love love love the shoes.
SJP’s jacket, runway version: Chanel Resort 2012, modeled by Abbey Lee Kershaw
It looks stuffy and old-lady like on the model, but kind of fresh (or at least not matronly) on SJP.
