The Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part 3

It’s been a whirlwind week of whimsical fashion, dear readers.

If you feel the earth rumbling beneath your feet, don’t panic. That’s simply the gods expressing HOW FUCKING FLAWLESS EMMA STONE LOOKS RIGHT NOW.

Emma Stone refuses to let Spider-Man premiere before she models at least a thousand adorable, charming, girl-next-door spring dresses. Cheers, Emma, to your relentless cuteness.

That coat. I want it.

LESLIE MANN in Los Angeles
top and skirt by Monique Lhuillier, shoes by Oscar Tiye

Leslie Mann made a grand return to form at the LA premiere of The Other Woman. Cameron Diaz might be more famous, and Kate Upton might be, well, Kate Upton, but Leslie Mann is the clear fashion diva of this truly terrible-looking film wherein blonde women fight over Jaime Lannister.

ELIZABETH BANKS in New Orleans
dress by Monique Lhuillier, purse by Rauwolf, shoes by Kurt Geiger

Elizabeth Banks has a long, beautiful history of rocking fantastic bright colors the way no other white girl possibly can. This dizzying print absolutely pops, and the chic black accessories are perfect.

KATE UPTON in Los Angeles
dress by Dolce & Gabbana, shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti

The dress is adorable and the shoes are great, but I’m not sure why Kate Upton is wearing Oscar night jewelry to a movie premiere. There actually is such a thing as too many diamonds, apparently.

NICKI MINAJ in Los Angeles
gown by Alexander McQueen

Photo: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin

Am I supposed to start taking Nicki Minaj seriously on the red carpet? I didn’t think it was possible, but apparently, she is determined to shock us by normalizing her wardrobe. Keep the McQueen coming, Nicki, and the world might just let you have a film career.

CATHERINE, DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE in Canberra, Australia
dress by Lela Rose

My jaw dropped when I saw the design on those shoulders. I know it’s still a little white dress and black pumps, but for the demure Duchess, this is about as shocking as it gets, and I love it.

LILY ALDRIDGE in New York City
gown by Chanel

Photo: Gary Gershoff/WireImage

This week, a bunch of models gathered in New York to wear Chanel dresses and pout. Exhibit A: Lily Aldridge, making this nightie look like chic eveningwear solely with the power of her cheekbones. Next up:

CRYSTAL RENN in New York City
gown by Chanel

Pouty Chanel-Clad Supermodels, Exhibit B: Crystal Renn. I would be able to love this if the feathers coming out of the sleeves didn’t look quite so much like hair.

HILARY RHODA in New York City
gown and purse by Chanel

Pouty Chanel-Clad Supermodel, Exhibit C: Hilary Rhoda, featuring Too Much Makeup and Not Enough Hair.

CLAIRE DANES in New York City
dress by Prada, shoes by Narciso Rodriguez

Fun and sweet, but it feels like she’s worn this too many times before.

JORDANA BREWSTER in Los Angeles
dress by Carolina Herrera

Photo: Aleks Kocev/BFAnyc/Sipa

This makes me want to be drinking on a beach somewhere impossibly warm and luxurious.

LAKE BELL at the Tribeca Film Festival
jumpsuit by Stella McCartney, shoes by Christian Louboutin

Photo: Rex

There is something adorable and bold and 1970s disco-fabulous about this bump-displaying jumpsuit. And I’ll cheer for anyone who can wear those heels in that trimester. Go and get it, Mama Bell.

CAMILLA BELLE in Los Angeles
blouse and skirt by Carolina Herrera, shoes by Christian Louboutin

I’m not sure I love the studded shoes with the decidedly kindergarten teacher outfit, but they’re a lot of fun.

EMMY ROSSUM in Santa Monica, California
dress by Tory Burch, purse by Rodo

Photo: Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

It’s cute enough, but preppy Emmy Rossum is one of the more boring Emmy Rossums we tend to encounter on the red carpet. I much prefer glam princess Emmy or art deco Emmy.

CAMERON DIAZ in Los Angeles
dress by Stella McCartney, shoes by Manolo Blahnik

Photo: INF

Stupid neckline is stupid.

KATY PERRY in Los Angeles
dress by Roland Mouret, shoes by Brian Atwood

Photo: FameFlynet

I’m still mildly grossed out by the hair, but I sort of like how it looks like she foraged for this dress in an alien’s dumpster.

SOFIA VERGARA at the Tribeca Film Festival
dress by Zuhair Murad, shoes by Stuart Weitzman

Photo: Andres Otero/WENN

That’s… a lot to handle. But it’s positively wholesome and classy compared to her usual drag queen garb, so I’ll take what I can get.

RUMER WILLIS in Los Angeles
dress by Franziska Fox, purse by Vince Camuto, shoes by Sigerson Morrison

Photo: Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic

I don’t want to offend Rumer Willis by comparing her vulva to a traffic accident, but dear GOD, that thing is a like a car wreck. I know I don’t want to see it, but I just cannot stop looking.

I am absolutely positive that Rumor’s outfit is illegal in at least 35 states.

I just want to laud your appropriate use of vulva rather than vagina. Also your fashion commentary is spot on.
