The Week in Celebrity Fashion

Let’s roll out the red carpet, dear readers!

Ooh, my dear readers, I just LOVE that Cate Blanchett is back on the red carpet. She makes everything look modern and glamorous, but she never rests on her laurels. I love this gown, and her berry lipstick is just perfect.

Admittedly, it’s a lot of two-tone pieces, and no one else on earth could look good on those pants. But I want to steal that purse right off her goddamn arm, it’s so gorgeous. I’ll take the blazer as well.

So simple, so classic, but still refreshingly of-the-moment.

ZOE SALDANA in Egham, England

The perfect summer look, as far as I’m concerned. As long as the weather’s still hot, we’re not going to be able to swing a Birkin bag without hitting a starlet in fabulous white pumps.

KIERNAN SHIPKA in Los Angeles

A lovely little white sundress, fun sandals, adorable hair – this girl can do no wrong.

I can’t support the dreary-looking taupe shoes, but that is a fucking COAT, darlings. She looks like a fashion superhero, which I guess she kind of is.

FAN BINGBING and LI ZHITING in Beijing
dress, coat, and purse by Louis Vuitton

That boy’s jacket is delicious, I must say. But Fan is in full diva Disney princess mode in her delicately embellished (if unreasonably enormous) coat and mismatched yet perfectly paired dress. Her perfect white purse, glitzy diamond earrings, and the red lipstick are all working beautifully.

I don’t love the matching lipstick, but this dress is ten different kinds of adorable. And the shoes were a great pairing – simple but chic and a little sexy.

RACHEL BILSON in Los Angeles
dress by Oscar de la Renta, shoes by Casadei

The lack of styling is a problem, but at least it’s an interesting peplum, even though I’m sick of that particular red carpet trend.

EMMA WATSON in London

Emma Watson is displaying some killer street style, and I just want to be her best friend and maybe borrow this dress. Forever.

JENNIFER LOPEZ in New York City

There’s nothing wrong with it (except maybe that pink lipstick), but I can’t say this look excites me.

KATY PERRY in Los Angeles
dress by Tadashi Shoji, shoes by Pedro Garcia

WE GET IT. SMURFS ARE BLUE. Can you wear a different fucking color on the press tour, now, Katy? Please? Because those shoes are destroying me.

CHLOË MORETZ in New York City
skirt by Dolce & Gabbana, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Photo: Rex

Ah, the innocence of youth, when you can wear a giant sunflower face over your vagina and not realize how ridiculous it looks.

CHRISTINA RICCI in New York City
dress by Thom Browne, purse by Jimmy Choo, shoes by Casadei

Photo: Craig Barritt/Getty

This is all kinds of wonky around the hips, but the color and print are adorable. I just wish the accessories made more sense – they’re too traditional, especially with that geometric pattern.

AUBREY PLAZA in Los Angeles

I hate to be the one to tell you this, Aubrey, but someone has deflated your breasts.

ANGELINA JOLIE in Tokyo
dress by Michael Kors, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Pretty, but I can barely keep my eyes open, this is so goddamn boring. And things didn’t improve:

Wow, Ange. Calm your wardrobe down, would you? You’re going to give someone a heart attack with all the fashion risks you’re taking!

ANNA KENDRICK in Los Angeles
dress by Temperley London, purse by Jimmy Choo, shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti

Anna Kendrick, why do you always look like a Christmas tree ornament? I don’t understand it. You’re adorable and you could do so much, but it’s always embellished little trinkets like this, and you never accessorize them properly.

SELENA GOMEZ in New York City
top by David Koma, shorts by Topshop, boots by Jimmy Choo

It just gets worse and worse the further down you scroll. I saw the top and thought, well, it’s a little awkward, but it has potential. Then I saw how high up her shorts went and I thought, this is a recipe for disaster. Then I saw the boots and my head exploded.

WHO LET YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE DRESSED LIKE THIS?! Fire them, Jayma. Fire them all. Anyone who even saw you before this photo was taking and didn’t tackle you immediately should be fired. They are all responsibility for this atrocity.

  1. I just want Anna Kendrick to get a movie makeover montage in which she finds a stylist who is actually able to dress her to true excellence.

Katy Perry’s shoes are fucking stupid, but I totally support her dedication to the Smurf shtick. Her hair is a natural color! I’m impressed that a fugly pair of shoes are about the worst of it, given who we’re talking about.
