The Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part 2

So many pretty things to fawn over and fugly things to judge; so little time.

NICOLE KIDMAN at the Shanghai Film Festival
gown by Dolce & Gabbana

Serving up total ice queen realness. The bejeweled armor makes this look like something Daenerys Targaryen will wear once she finally gets her shit together, invades Westeros, and takes the Iron Throne. Obviously, there is no higher compliment in the Seven Kingdoms than that.

gown by Armani Privé, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Not quite as regal, but still chic, ethereal, and all-around lovely.

NICOLE KIDMAN in Melbourne
gown by Prada

I’ve had to say this too many times recently: Miuccia Prada needs to put down the hot glue gun and lay off the tinsel. The trim on the waist and hips is fine, but the stuff around the neck and shoulders is overkill. And while a woman’s breasts are hers to do with as she pleases, Nicole probably should have skipped the mega-push-up/shiny lotion combination that makes her look like she has Barbie’s nipple-less tits.

KIERNAN SHIPKA at the MuchMusic Video Awards
dress by Marni, purse by Edie Parker, shoes by Aldo

KIERNAN SHIPKA IS THE PATRON SAINT OF FUCKING FABULOUSNESS AND I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT HER.

KIERNAN SHIPKA in Los Angeles
dress by Mary Katrantzou, shoes by Sophia Webster

So gosh-darn sweet, I’m getting a cavity just looking at it. I love the way she matched the purse to the yellow in the dress.

TILDA SWINTON in Los Angeles
dress by Schiaparelli

Photo: Valerie Macon/Getty

It’s Tilda. It’s Schiaparelli. It’s fucking EVERYTHING, and we should all bow down to this other-worldly creature of all things fashion-forward.

ANGELINA JOLIE in London
suit by Atelier Versace, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Photo: Eamonn M. McCormack/Getty

Ange continues to save the world, one fabulous outfit at a time. The neckline of this jacket is magnificent. And she even makes the wide arms work, whereas I would just look like I was trying to smuggle melons in my sleeves.

EMMY ROSSUM in Los Angeles
dress by J. Mendel

Photo: Paul A. Hebert/Press Line/Splash News

Simple, but without being a dress I’ve seen a thousand times before. I really love this royal blue color and the combination of textures.

VICTORIA BECKHAM in New York City
dress by Victoria Beckham, shoes by Manolo Blahnik

Photo: Humberto Carreno/Startraks

Not the most surprising thing on earth, but I do love the way she’s rocking that chain.

MINDY KALING in Los Angeles
dress by Moschino, purse by Fendi

Photo: Lilly Lawrence/WireImage

Absolutely adorable. She could have easily looked like a kindergartener in this dress, but she styled it smartly, with effortlessly sexy hair, makeup, and accessories. Keep the fabness coming, Mindy.

KARLIE KLOSS in New York City
gown by Donna Karan

Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty

It’s a glorified toga, but do you need much more than that when your canvas is someone as beautiful as Karlie Kloss? I think not.

JENA MALONE at the MuchMusic Video Awards
top and skirt by Paper London

Photo: Sonia Recchia/Getty

I don’t like the hair, but Jena looks divine in that crop top. The fabric, the seaming, and the proportions work incredibly well on her adorable frame, and I like that her styling has a bit of an edge to it.

ALLISON WILLIAMS in New York City
gown by Dolce & Gabbana

Photo: Marion Curtis/Startraks

The thick straps look silly with the rest of the silhouette, and this gown is almost as boring as Allison Williams. But at least the white lace is delicate and beautiful.

CHLOË MORETZ at the MuchMusic Video Awards
dress by Marios Schwab, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Photo: George Pimentel/WireImage

Slightly awkward; ridiculous neckline.

MARGOT ROBBIE in London
dress by Vionnet, shoes by Casadei

Photo: Karwai Tang/Getty

Margot had dark brown hair the last time I saw her, and platinum blonde locks a few months before that, so I basically have no chance of ever recognizing her on the red carpet. Also, while I like this shade of red hair in general, I don’t think it actually works with her coloring. The outfit is pretty, I guess. The colors and geometric print are too bold for it to really be considered dowdy,  but there’s just something a little bit stuffy about the whole thing.

JENNIFER MORRISON in Monaco
gown by Georges Hobeika

Photo: Tony Barson/FilmMagic

I really do love everything below the neck, but I cannot and will not take her seriously with those Swedish milkmaid braids.

KATE WINSLET in Chantilly, France
dress by Narciso Rodriguez, hat by Philip Treacy, shoes by Chloe Gosselin

Photo: Alban Wyters/Abaca

Supremely boring, except for the hat.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER in New York City
gown by Schiaparelli

Photo: Charles Guerin/Abaca

This isn’t even a dress. This is a bedsheet, with matching deflated swim floaties.

SOPHIA BUSH in Los Angeles
dress by Fleur du Mal, purse by Rauwolf, shoes by Stuart Weitzman

Photo: Frederick M. Brown/Getty

Sheer can be great when it’s done properly, but plasticky fabric over granny panties is always a recipe for disaster.

KENDALL JENNER at the MuchMusic Video Awards
gown by Fausto Puglisi

BRB, my eyeballs are bleeding.
