March Fabness 2012, Round 1: Dior Bracket

Another day, another bracket, another chance for you to decide:

Polls on the Dior bracket have now closed, but vote on the other March Fabness brackets now!

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: dress by Prabal Gurung, shoes by Charlotte Olympia // ROSE BYRNE: dress by Christian Cota
Sarah and Rose are off to the races with matching center-parted loose waves and V-neck dresses. SJP offers a color-blocked (floral-blocked?) confection and killer platforms, while Rose opts for simple beauty in a long-sleeved red dress.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: dress by Tory Burch, jacket by Yves Saint Laurent, purse by VBH, shoes by Manolo Blahnik
The ladies share a love of prints in neutral tones: wavy sequined stripes on Ms. Parker, and an argyle/floral/lace mixture on Ms. Byrne.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: dress by Prabal Gurung, shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo // ROSE BYRNE: dress by Dolce & Gabbana, shoes by Sergio Rossi

You can’t deny a girl a bold print and a pair of pumps. But do you prefer Sarah’s funky Prabal Gurung dress (and the cap-toed Ferragamos) over Rose’s dark green leopard print by Dolce & Gabbana?

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: gown by Oscar de la Renta, jacket by Theyskens’ Theory, purse by VBH, shoes by Manolo Blahnik // ROSE BYRNE: dress and purse by Alexander McQueen, shoes by Sergio Rossi
SJP shows off gritty-meets-pretty style in a leather jacket/pink ball gown combo. But can it beat Rose’s fab McQueen dress and classic, simple styling?

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: gown by Alexander McQueen // ROSE BYRNE: gown by Vivienne Westwood, purse by Chanel, shoes by Jimmy Choo

These ladies can clean up well, and they both opt for full length and glitter. As Sarah’s gold beading takes on Rose’s black sequins, it’s time to decide: Who’s the fabbest?

ASHLEY GREENE: dress by Michael Kors // ALEXA CHUNG: dress and purse by Christopher Kane, shoes by Charlotte Olympia
Two-tone dress: check. Clutch that matches the top of the dress: check. Black shoes: check. It’s a matter of taste, dear readers: are you for Ashley’s hot pink sheath or Alexa’s ivory beaded look?

ASHLEY GREENE: dress by Narcisco Rodriguez // ALEXA CHUNG: dress by Chanel, purse by Christopher Kane

The ladies switch it up with solid-color dresses (though Alexa kept the same adorable clutch, as you can see). Ashley’s chic high pony looks fab with her asymmetrical red dress, while Ms. Chung’s bow-adorned peep-toes work perfectly with her blue ruffled sheath.

ASHLEY GREENE: gown by Donna Karan // ALEXA CHUNG: suit by Stella McCartney

It’s simple, dear readers: Old Hollywood glam, or 21st-century menswear fierceness?

ASHLEY GREENE: gown by Donna Karan // ALEXA CHUNG: dress by Chanel

It’s no surprise that Ashley’s the face of Donna Karan, as she dons another fanciful gown from the designer. And Alexa stays devoted to Chanel, and bow-adorned shoes, while hitting up a fashion show.

ASHLEY GREENE: gown by Donna Karan // ALEXA CHUNG: dress by Stella McCartney, shoes by Jimmy Choo

But as the ladies don their black-and-white best, the choice is yours: Ms. Greene’s sexy-chic style or Ms. Chung’s hipster-cool aesthetic?

JESSICA ALBA: dress by Carolina Herrera, shoes by Barbara Bui // DIANNA AGRON: gown by Carolina Herrera

The race begins with both ladies in their most beloved label: Carolina Herrera. Jessica opts for an on-trend belted LWD, while Dianna goes California chic in a fuchsia gown.

JESSICA ALBA: top by Acne, pants by Erdem, shoes by Barbara Bui // DIANNA AGRON: dress by Libertine
When the girls go more casual, it’s Ms. Alba’s colorful solids and prints versus Ms. Agron’s adorable black-and-white look.

JESSICA ALBA: dress by Carolina Herrera, purse by Jimmy Choo, shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti // DIANNA AGRON: dress by Michael Kors
When the ladies go red, Jessica sticks to Caroilna and goes for eye-catching accessories; Dianna snags a Michael Kors look (he’s standing right next to her!) and a trendy Wonder Woman cuff.

JESSICA ALBA: dress by Armani Privé // DIANNA AGRON: dress by Stella McCartney, shoes by Yves Saint Laurent

The ladies give us a tough decision in gorgeous little black dresses and matching shoes. Dianna goes for a textured black-on-black look with a peplum skirt, while Jessica looks vintage and romantic with a touch of print at the bottom of her dress.

JESSICA ALBA: gown by Gucci // DIANNA AGRON: gown by Giles Deacon
Two girls, one event: the Golden Globes. Do you prefer the soft, romantic beading on the mauve Gucci gown or the lazer-cut swans and ruffles on the red Giles Deacon gown?

Who wins, dear readers?

JENNIFER HUDSON: dress by Roland Mouret // GWYNETH PALTROW: dress by Rachel Roy, shoes by Camilla Skovgaard
Battle of the shockingly bright yellow dresses! Low-cut with white ankle-strap peep-toes, or a higher neckline with funky black shoes?

JENNIFER HUDSON: dress by Elie Tahari // GWYNETH PALTROW: gown by Stella McCartney
The ladies go darker, with J.Hud in a mixed-print green Tahari look and GOOP in a black McCartney look with those ubiquitous side cut-outs.

JENNIFER HUDSON: gown by Roberto Cavalli // GWYNETH PALTROW: gown by Stella McCartney

The girls opt for neutral tones and tons of shine with Ms. Hudson in long, crimped hair and a Cavalli gown, and Ms. Paltrow in soft blonde waves donning her favorite label.

JENNIFER HUDSON: gown by Michael Kors // GWYNETH PALTROW: gown by Tom Ford

Both ladies have a keen eye for minimalism, as Jennifer shows off her hot body in a sexy curve-hugging Michael Kors look. Gwyneth counters with a white caped column gown and fabulous diamond cuff.

JENNIFER HUDSON: gown by The Blonds // GWYNETH PALTROW: gown by Elie Saab

But when the girls bring out the rainbow glitter and the bright green glitz, it’s time for you to decide: Who advances to Round 2?

Don’t forget to leave your feelings in the comments! And vote on the Chanel bracket (featuring Lady Gaga & Anne Hathaway) and the Gucci bracket (featuring Duchess Catherine and Rooney Mara)!

I had to vote Ashley over Alexa on principal, because even if her fashion was 100x better, I will never support that hair.
