The Week in Celebrity Fashion

Come along, dear readers. We have fangirling and judging to do.

LILY COLLINS in Tokyo
gown by Maticevski, shoes by Christian Louboutin

Photo: Atsushi Tomura/Getty

Sculptural and bright; classic but utterly modern. And her eyebrow game continues to be Olympic-level. Lily Collins is basically taking over the world.

NAOMIE HARRIS in London
suit and purse by Alexander McQueen, shoes by Bionda Castana

I love a suit with a sense of humor, and this kicky little McQueen definitely fits that description. The matching graphic purse and strappy shoes round this out perfectly.

SIENNA MILLER at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards
gown by Burberry

Ugh, this dress is so pretty, I just want to hug it. Delicate and feminine and it just makes me melt into a puddle, it’s so lovely.

NAOMI CAMPBELL at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards
gown by Burberry

I love that sly smile. She’s all, “why yes, I am Naomi Campbell. And you’re not, and I feel sorry for you.”

JULIANNE MOORE at the Gotham Independent Film Awards
dress by Givenchy

Photo: Gary Gershoff/WireImage

I don’t plan on aging further – I’m working on some sort of vampire/fountain of youth/deal with the devil situation – but if I must grow up, can I please grow up to be Julianne Moore?

gown and purse by Alexander McQueen

The trim around the neckline looks like icing. In a good way, but also, now I want cake.

TILDA SWINTON at the Gotham Independent Film Awards
gown by Haider Ackermann

Photo: Theo Wargo/Getty

I would have asked to grow up to be Tilda Swinton, but let’s be honest, we’re not even the same species.

TAYLOR SWIFT at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after-party
gown by Zuhair Murad

Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty

I won’t pretend I didn’t roll my eyes at this, but it’s not actually bad. The plain sleeve is too baggy, and also, who wears a train to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show? The shoes are sexy, though. I’ll give her that much.

NIEVES ALVAREZ in Madrid
gown by Zuhair Murad

Photo: Carlos Alvarez/Getty

I don’t know much about Spanish model-actress Nieves Alvarez, but I know she is wearing the ever-loving shit out of this print. And that’s really all I need to know.

EVANGELINE LILLY in London
dress by Reem Acra

Photo: Fred Duval/FilmMagic

I love the beaded bodice, but I wish there was a little more happening with the skirt.

OLGA KURLYENKO in Melbourne
dress by Emilio Pucci, shoes by Tabitha Simmons

Before I put my glasses on, I totally thought the fringe around her sleeves was armpit hair. And honestly, I was kind of impressed.

OLGA KURLYENKO in Sydney
gown by Prada

Photo: Lisa Maree Williams/Getty

The gown is basic and the hair is boring. I liked her better when I thought she had an armpit hair problem.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON at the Gotham Independent Film Awards
dress, purse, and shoes by Saint Laurent

Photo: Steve Mack/FilmMagic

Fucking stupid hair, questionable eye makeup, flawless little black dress.

ALEXA CHUNG in London
skirt by Erdem, purse by Edie Parker

Photo: instyle.com

I’ve never been one for the Peter Pan collar, and she wears those awkwardly-shaped WAY shoes too often, but that skirt really is a work of art.

ANNA KENDRICK at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards
dress by Burberry Prorsum, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Photo: KGC-03/Starmax

Sorry for the excessive fangirling, but I have loved Anna Kendrick since she was in Camp, the greatest terrible movie of all time. I saw the trailer for the Pitch Perfect sequel at the movies tonight and might have actually applauded when it started. So she can’t really do anything wrong in my book. This is a tad underwhelming, but the color is really lovely on her.

GUGU MBATHA-RAW at the Gotham Independent Film Awards
dress by Calvin Klein, purse by Lee Savage

Photo: Jemal Countess/Getty

I wish the accessories were more interesting, but she is selling the shit out of this dress.

DAVID BECKHAM and VICTORIA BECKHAM at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards
Victoria’s gown by Victoria Beckham

Photo: Tim P. Whitby/Getty

I’m beyond exhausted with Posh wearing the same three different outfits of her own design over and over again, but at least I can just gaze at the glory that is David Beckham.

SUKI WATERHOUSE at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards
gown by Burberry

Photo: Fred Duval/FilmMagic

I wanted to like this, but something about the blue lace mixed with the porn star hair and makeup reads as cheap and cheesy to me. Also, Suki, we need to have a talk about those sleeves.

BLAKE LIVELY
gown by Kaufmanfranco, jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz

Photo: D. Dipasupil/FilmMagic

It’s kind of comforting to know that even on the brink of motherhood, Blake Lively still can’t accessorize to save her life, and STILL brags about not having a stylist. Can she even lift her arm under the weight of all those bracelets?

TESSA THOMPSON at the Gotham Independent Film Awards
gown by Ashi, shoes by Jimmy Choo

Photo: Theo Wargo/Getty

Dear readers, you know I love when celebrities take risks, because writing about the same ordinary dresses over and over again can get really fucking tedious. And I never want to dissuade someone from making a bold choice with their wardrobe. But sometimes, there are risks that don’t pay off. Instead, they leave you stranded on the red carpet dressed as a big-ass bird.
